On Sunday 18th November I held the 2nd puppy Sundog Day. This was an educational day for both puppy and handler. We worked through a number of key basics using reward, positive methods that really do work. In the afternoon we looked at steadiness, helping a puppy understand how to offer a behaviour rather than being told to do something and how quickly the puppy will understand what is required, Small steps being rewarded at each stage.

We also started to look at the retrieve.

All puppies had a great time, everyone went away with lots to work on and we finished off with a puppy gym. This gives the puppies and handlers a chance to experience different behaviours depending on the piece of equipment. Puppies again all excelled.

A really good day for everyone involved.
